FAQs about Business Coaching

  • What does coaching involve?
Coming with an open mind; carrying out tasks (which you have agreed with your coach); being willing to create and try out new approaches; analysing your own motivation and very important, giving feedback on what is working and what is not.

  • What can I get from coaching, that I cannot get from reading books, manuals, looking at the internet etc?

Coaching is about asking questions, questions, questions until the desired outcome is reached.  You cannot do this with a book.

  • Why is coaching better than going to workshops or seminars?

Workshops and seminars which are solution-focussed are only offering 'one size fits all' solutions.  Coaching is about discovering solutions which are specific to you.

  • How much time does coaching involve?

Typically a coaching contract with Beacon Business Coaching is for three months.

  • What happens in those three months?

You will have a total of twelve coaching session.  The first session will take up to one and a half hours.  This is for coach and client to get to know each other and for the coach to find out what makes the client 'tick'.  There are then ten half hourly sessions at weekly intervals.  The final session is a completion session.  Between the coaching sessions we offer you telephone and email support.

  • What areas do you work in?

Geographically we offer coaching to companies in Chelmsford, Brentwood, Colchester, Harlow and all of Essex.  As well as London, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk.  On an industry basis we have clients in IT, Computing, Building Services, Accountancy, Insurance, Legal Services and Financial Services.  However my personal business experience gives me knowledge of a much broader range of companies.

  • What is my financial investment in coaching?

Charges may vary and are negotiable.  However Beacon Business Coaches are highly trained professionals.  Consequently the fees are similar to what you would expect to pay another professional such as an architect, accountant or solicitor.
